ALL LIVING FEAR

29th February 2004 – Southamptom • The Joiners

Line-up

Just simply a really good night, everything ran to time, all the bands had good sound, a reasonable turn out.

"Faetal: There were about as sounds perfect as I have ever heard them tonight. It was nice to be able to really hear Petes rather excellent voice and his lyrics rather then trying to guess. The soundman was excellent and did a good job. I would say that they need to clean up the backing tracks a little as Faetals sound is clean and crisp. I am not too sure about the last song. It was just such a sudden change in direction from what had up until then been a definate dance/Industrial style set, it seamed a little bit out of place. I think Faetal could benefit from selling themselves to a wider audience. I think they would appeal right across the alternative board, they need to get MP3ing and websiting in order to get the audience in.

Devilish Presley: RARRR RARRR RARRR RARRRR!!! Fucking fantastic! I brought the album a few weeks ago, its so nice to hear pure unadulterated Rock and Roll, massive stage presence and I now just have the biggest crush in the world on the gorgeous Miss Vixen. I am also going to get this album for my dad for fathers day. He will love it. I would love to see these guys and Feotus on the same bill.

Jesus Fix: I felt really sorry for these guys. Now they are very good for their style of music, however they were playing to an audience who were mainly goth and not all that appreciative of the Prog Rock style of this band. They very much reminded me of Deep Purple, I personally would not of billed them with the bands playing tonight, they would of been far more comfortable playing with other heavy metal bands and got the audience they deserve. Their drummer was very very talented and quite obviously held the bands sound together. Rather scarily he is the spitting image of Different Colours and I had to look twice before nearly embarassing myself by rushing up and snuggling.

All living fear: Musically very tight and talented. It would be nice to hear different styles of vocals as the singer tends to stick to a range that he knows works. Rather nice effects of a 12 string rythem guitar in the songs which added depth to the music. I also think they could of done with a drummer rather then a machine. They have a following and as I found out tonight have already been around for nine odd years.

It was nice to have bands playing, I hope more come to my sordid little burgh soon."
