This was our first gig as a trio since 1998. We had worked very hard on this one to make everything as perfect as can be. The venue was huge – there were around 1,200 people watching us at the time we were on stage, the atmosphere was good and we had great crowd reaction – all in all a top show. Also it was good to see so many old faces and a real joy to be peforming with Faith and the Muse again as well as Wayne and the Amazing All About Eve, who were band of the weekend for me.

Comments from the critics (so far):

eraseronline.com posted:

"All Living Fear. It has to be said that my hopes weren't high, as All Living Fear date back to the early 90s UK trad-goth sound, an area of the scene's history that I've not traditionally been a great fan of (though, as suggested above, I'm quite keen on Inky Sukky). And sure enough they sounded exactly like the old-school goth band I thought they were. What did surprise me, however, was that I managed to enjoy myself all the same. All Living Fear clearly belonged here as much as they belonged at the first Whitby event all those years ago."

Snifflygoth posted to the Whitby Gothic Weekend Messageboard: "All About Eve rocked and blew most of the rest of the bands off the stage I reckon :-) Wayne Hussey was equally good, as were Faith and the Muse and ALF."

mistressmalise wrote to Livejournal: "I'd not heard much ALF before but I thoroughly enjoyed their live performance and would definitely like to hear more."

Hiddenpaw wrote to Livejournal: "It was a great night on Friday. All living fear I knew nothing about before but I can safely say they rocked. It was a great live act, I might even be interested in some of their CD's at some point."

Psychopixi wrote to Livejournal: "Thoroughly taken with All Living Fear, Chaos Engine and Manuskript, all of whom had excellent sets and astounding stage presence."

From Ld50.com: "There were several bands that are a mainstay in England but that I've never had the privilege of seeing before. All Living Fear (www.alllivingfear.co.uk) have a much more of a traditional goth-rock sound – I kept thinking that the people who are fans of the Cruxshadows would really appreciate them."

CountB (AKA James Savage) Posted to uk.people.gothic: "The performances were absolutely excellent – All Living Fear got things going to a nice loud start."

Glendm wrote to Livejournal: "Got to the spa around 8.30 so I didn't have to wait too long for the first band All Living Fear to play. Probably the band most to my conventional taste at Whitby. Think there were Sisters/early Rosetta Stone/Nosferatu (and I actually like Nosferatu!) influences which was a good thing. Enjoyed it a lot especially as I'd never heard them before."

Oldgoth posted to uk.people.gothic: "All Living Fear played a good 'un and I was very surprised that Matt hadn't metioned he'd got Richard Fairbrass to sing with him." (Ed note I'm confused!!!)

Sooty and Sweep (with the help of Cpt M) posted to uk.people.gothic: "On Friday it was Sooty's turn to cause mayhem. He made that nice Mr Paul from All Living Fear fluff his bass lines. And then he tried to help Mr Matt play his guitar. What a naughty bear! But despite all the mischief from Sooty, All Living Fear played a cracking set featuring lots of jolly songs, old and new."

Morph wrote to uk.people.gothic: "All Living Fear were pretty good. Sounded a lot better at the front than at the back, though – the interesting guitar bits didn't seem to travel too well. Not the best I've seen them, and it was a shame that we didn't get a duet for Stranger To None ('cos that worked really well at Club Noir), but good stuff."

Miriam wrote to uk.people.gothic: "All Living Fear were excellent, so I rushed back and bought the new CD after the performance."
